Contraindication
Below you will find a list of contraindications for S.P.A. Services. Please read through each category listed below.
It is best to discontinue retinol products and avoid harsh acids and scrubs 48 hours before any facial treatment or waxing, and Accutane 1 year prior to waxing and facial treatments.
Fever and contagious disease is a contraindication for all S.P.A. Services.
LED Light Therapy Treatments
This also includes any facial that includes LED Light
Epilepsy
Medications causing light sensitivity
Open wounds
Pregnancy
Resurfacing, Fire & Ice, and Treatments Using Strong Enzymes
Broken/inflamed skin, Sunburned/windburned skin, Pregnant/lactating, Taking sun sensitizing medications, Have not had permanent cosmetics, botox, or filler within the last two weeks, Receiving Chemotherapy or Radioactive treatment, diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on the face, Recently waxed or used a depilatory on the area to be treated
Diabetes, autoimmune disease, herpes blisters, Rosacea/sensitive skin
Discontinue retinol, hydroquinone, hydroxy acids, & scrubs 48 hrs, accutane 1 yr
High Frequency
Epilepsy or prone to seizures
Pregnancy
Pacemaker
Broken capillaries
Heart disease
Rosacea
Waxing
Accutane must be discontinued for 1 year prior to waxing
Over-the-counter and prescription retinol products are discontinued for 48 hours prior to waxing
Exfoliating acids and scrubs are discontinued for 48 hours prior to waxing
Sauna Infrared Light (can be turned off in sauna)
Cancer
Pregnancy
Fever
Parkinsons
Hemophiliacs or individuals prone to bleeding
Prescription drugs: consult a physician prior
Dry Heat Sauna (may still use infrared light without heat)
Multiple Sclerosis, central nervous system tumors, Parkinsons, Hyper/hypotensive, Congestive Heart Failure, Diabetic, Cancer, conditions associated with impaired sweating. Persons on diuretics, barbiturates, beta blockers, blood pressure medication, blood thinners & other prescription medication should consult a doctor.
Fever, Alcohol abuse. Persons with prior heat stroke may use the infrared light with no heat or low heat
Pregnancy, Children under 18 need parental consent. Elderly on low heat only
